The ORP ISKRA is one of a few Polish Navy training ships. The main purpose of the ship is to train cadets from Polish Naval Academy during their practices.
The ORP ISKRA is the second sailing ship in Polish Navy with such a name. The ship took her name and tradition after a wooden, three-masted gaff schooner which sailed under the Polish Navy ensign for 50 years.
The ORP ISKRA is a three-masted barquentine with different rigging on all three masts. Every year on the ship, there are practices cadets from Polish Naval Academy. Since 1987 the ship has been participating in different Tall ship races. And not without merit; she won different prices.
During her previous duty, the ship covered 210,000 nautical miles. She has visited more than 150 harbours placed in 30 countries all over the world.
