HMS Gladan and HMS Falken

The HMS Gladan is one of the two Swedish navy training vessels. Together with its identical twin schooner the HMS Falken (also present at Sail Amsterdam 2010), this vessel participated in many Tall Ships races and other nautic events. Together, they form the Swedish Navy vessel squadron. The only difference between both ships are their sail numbers: S01 for the Gladan and S02 for the Falken. They were built in the same yard, and are operating since 1947 to train future officers of the Swedish Royal Navy. Since then, the ship has been modernized several times to meet the needs of a high standard training ship.
